For a wooden ramp to be installed, first you need to find a local carpenter who knows the correct angle for the rise of your application. Many times they will build what the consumers are requesting which may not be safe. Consumers usually assume they need less length creating a possible unsafe slope ratios. Also wooden ramps may be considered permanent modifications to the home and may require a building permit. If considered a permanent modification, re-evaluation may occur increasing the taxes on the property if considered an implement and may not be considered a permanent home modification. The resale value of your home may be reduced with a permanent wooden ramp. Due to inclement weather conditions, a wooden ramp may become unusable due to warping or rotting of the wood. Also wood can be quite slippery when wet. Deterioration of wooden handrails can cause painful splinters in the consumers hands. Modular ramps are adaptive. You are able to reconfigure or add additionnal length if that becomes necessary due to a decline in the client's condition. If the client moves to a different location, the Modular ramp can be easily relocated. Permanent wooden ramps require timely excavation of property and concrete footings. Removal of concrete footings is expensive.
